St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) is scheduled to illuminate its Christmas tree at Arnos Vale tomorrow, December 5.
This annual event has a slight location change this year; the lighting ceremony will take place on the tarmac of the decommissioned ET Joshua Airport, just outside the Joshua Centre, rather than in the car park as in previous years.
The lighting event will also see cultural performances from a number of individuals and will feature VIN Voices, VINLEC’s choir.
“Tomorrow we will have performances by Renaissance Dancers, the Ultimate Jazz Band, Starlift Steel Orchestra and VIN Voices – the VINLEC choir,” she said.
The lights on the tree and its surrounding area will be turned on at 6:30 p.m.
VINLEC’s Communications Officer – Ms. Bria King told One News SVG today that more lighting displays have been added this year.
Members of the public are invited to attend the event and join in spreading Christmas cheer.
Meanwhile, the company is also hosting its annual Christmas concerts, the first of which was held last weekend at the New Grounds Primary School.
Two more concerts are slated to be held in communities across the country. On Sunday, December 8, 2024, beginning at 6:30 p.m., VIN Voices will bring Christmas cheer to the North Leeward community of Rose Hall, at the square. On December 15, the final concert of the season will be held at Layou from 6:30 p.m.
