Problem Child Secures Third Straight Road March Crown with ‘Party Time’

Shertz “Problem Child” James has extended his dominance of Vincy Mas after capturing the 2026 Road March title with his infectious hit “Party Time”.

Official results released by the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) show that Party Time amassed 53 points to comfortably secure the coveted title.

Finishing in a tie for second place were Lamar “Blama” Allen with “Polygamy” and Jasper “Jasper YMC” Alexander with “Rum Island”, both earning 38 points.

The victory marks Problem Child’s third consecutive Road March title, following his wins with “Carnival Jumbie”in 2024 and “Fraid Horn” in 2025.

It also brings his overall Road March tally to six, making him one of the most successful artistes in the competition’s history. His previous victories came in 2007 (Party Animal), 2009 (Mad House), 2017 (Neva Bow), 2024 (Carnival Jumbie), 2025 (Fraid Horn) and now 2026 (Party Time).

Only Alston “Becket” Cyrus has won the title more times, having captured eight Road March crowns with “Wine Down Kingstown” (1978), “Cocoa” (1980), “Tone” (1985), “Ah Want Soca” (1986), “Ten Years” (1987), “Teaser” (1990), “Tone Up” (1998) and “Small Pin” (1999).

Cornelius “Poorsah” Williams and Godfrey Dublin with the Band Touch each boast five Road March victories, while Problem Child now stands alone in second place on the all-time winners’ list with six titles.

The CDC’s official 2026 Road March results are:

  • 1st: Shertz “Problem Child” James – Party Time – 53 points
  • 2nd (tie): Lamar “Blama” Allen – Polygamy – 38 points
  • 2nd (tie): Jasper “Jasper YMC” Alexander – Rum Island – 38 points
