Police Force Rocked by Second Tragedy as Officer Dies in Suspected Suicide

The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) has been dealt another devastating blow following the death of Police Constable Kenrick Scott, who is reported to have died in a suspected suicide at the Special Services Unit (SSU) base in Old Montrose on Wednesday morning.

Preliminary information indicates that the incident involved the use of a firearm. It has also been reported that Constable Scott appeared to have been on a telephone call at the time of the incident. However, this has not been officially confirmed, and investigators are continuing their enquiries.

The tragic development comes as the RSVGPF is already mourning the recent loss of another officer, Police Constable Warith Mc Bride, whose funeral is scheduled to take place this week. Mc Bride, who served in the Force from December 9, 2015, until his death on May 31, 2026, is being remembered by colleagues for his dedication and service. McBride died suddenly, reportedly due to health reasons.

Wednesday’s incident involving Scott has sent shockwaves through the Police Force and the wider Vincentian community, with many expressing disbelief at the loss of yet another officer in such tragic circumstances.
