Canouan will take centre stage tonight as six young women representing islands across St. Vincent and the Grenadines compete for the coveted Miss Grenadines 2026 title.
The pageant is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. at the Canouan Hard Court, bringing together contestants from Bequia, Mustique, Palm Island, Petit St. Vincent, Union Island and Canouan in one of the marquee events of the Canouan Carnival celebrations.
Organisers say patrons can also look forward to a special guest appearance by SVG 2026 Ragga Soca Monarch King D Fusion, while the winner will earn the honour of representing the Grenadines as its newest cultural ambassador.
The contestants come from varied educational and professional backgrounds, each bringing her own aspirations, achievements and community focus to the competition.
Representing Mustique is Rosetta Hendrickson of Buccament Bay, whose journey has been shaped by a passion for agriculture, wellness and sustainable development. A former Miss Intermediate 2018 and participant in the North Leeward Rural Pageant 2023, Hendrickson believes agriculture remains vital to national development and hopes to inspire others through service, resilience and compassion.
Kimonique Harry, 19, carries the hopes of host island Canouan. A graduate of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College with an Associate Degree in Information and Communication Technology, she describes herself as a confident and driven young woman committed to representing her island with pride while encouraging others to pursue excellence.
Flying the flag for Union Island is Keanna Hackshaw, 20, who works at Argyle International Airport Inc. Inspired by her mother’s sacrifices, Hackshaw hopes to support single parents and eventually help her mother establish a small business. She says entering the pageant has challenged her to step beyond her comfort zone while building confidence and resilience.
Representing Petit St. Vincent is Vonessa Greaves, who aspires to become a teacher. She believes every child deserves an equal opportunity to learn and succeed and hopes to become an educator who inspires confidence and inclusion. Greaves is no stranger to the stage, having previously competed in both the Miss SVG Teen and Miss Central Kingstown pageants.
Rolanda Samuel represents Palm Island. Originally from Petit Bordel, she is the reigning Miss North Leeward 2023and previously won the 2019 Miss Petit Bordel Secondary School Pageant. A graduate of the SVGCC with an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies, Samuel intends to pursue a career in law while balancing her interests in sport, dance and art.
The youngest contestant, Astrel Bynoe, 15, proudly represents Bequia. A football enthusiast, she credits sport with developing her discipline, leadership and teamwork. Earlier this year, she placed Second Runner-up in the Miss Central Kingstown Pageant 2026 and hopes to use the platform to encourage young people to believe in themselves and contribute positively to their communities.
Tonight’s pageant promises an evening of elegance, talent and cultural pride as the contestants vie for the Miss Grenadines 2026 crown before an audience expected to include supporters from across the Grenadine islands.
Admission is $50 for adults, $30 for children aged 12 to 17, and $25 for children aged six to 11.
