Lions Club St Vincent South Unveils Food Security Drive Under New Leadership

The Lions Club of St. Vincent South has installed a new Board of Directors for the 2026–2027 Lionistic Year, with Lion Michael John MJF returning for a second consecutive term as president and outlining an agenda centred on food security, youth development and expanded community service.

The installation ceremony was held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the Computec Conference Room in Kingstown.

According to the club, the new leadership will serve under the theme “Serving More, Reaching More, Impacting More,” with a focus on expanding public outreach and strengthening its impact across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

One of the club’s key priorities for the coming Lionistic Year will be the introduction of school poultry projects in partnership with primary and secondary schools. The initiative is intended to promote food security, encourage practical agricultural skills among students and support improved nutrition.

The Lions Club also plans to continue several of its longstanding programmes, including the Secondary School Public Speaking Competition, its annual tree planting programme and Lotto booth operations, which provide funding for community service initiatives.

The organisation said it will also continue supporting environmental conservation, health outreach and assistance for vulnerable individuals and families while strengthening partnerships with schools, civic organisations, local businesses and government agencies to maximise the impact of its projects.

According to the club, President John thanked members for the confidence placed in the new leadership team and reaffirmed its commitment to building on the organisation’s longstanding tradition of community service. He also encouraged members to actively participate in implementing projects, share new ideas and invite prospective members to experience Lionism.

The newly installed executive comprises First Vice-President Lion Stephen Seymour, Second Vice-President Lion Sharon Williams, Secretary Lion Sue-Mona Moses, Treasurer Lion Elroy John MJF and Membership Chair Lion Colvin Harry.

Marketing and Communications Chair Lion Martin Sheen, Lion Tamer Lion Janeil George and Tail Twister Lion Ellsworth Providence were also elected to serve but were absent from the installation ceremony.

The Lions Club of St. Vincent South said the new Board of Directors is committed to expanding its service footprint and delivering initiatives that create lasting benefits for communities throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
