Police Probe Death of Roseau Contractor

Police are investigating the death of 57-year-old contractor William Wales, better known as “Nipper”, after he was found unresponsive at his home in Roseau, Sion Hill, on Sunday morning.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said officers responded to a report at approximately 9:00 a.m. at a residence in Roseau. On arrival, they discovered Wales lying motionless inside the property.

A medical practitioner later attended the scene and pronounced him dead.

The police have not indicated that foul play is suspected and have instead launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

Earlier information received by One News SVG indicated that concerned individuals went to check on Wales after noticing that the door to his home had reportedly remained open since Saturday and that a pipe had been left running. He was subsequently found unresponsive.

Those initial reports also suggested there were no obvious signs of physical injury. However, the exact cause of death has not been established.

The RSVGPF said a post-mortem examination will be carried out to determine how Wales died, while investigations remain ongoing.

Police extended condolences to Wales’s family, friends and loved ones during what they described as a difficult time.
