Three people are reportedly claiming injuries after a Suzuki Escudo crashed into a group of people gathered outside a bar in Kingstown on Saturday evening.
According to information shared by journalist Kenville Fonando Horne, the incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. in the area known as Tokyo, where several people were socialising at the time.
The incident reportedly created tension among those gathered and nearly escalated into a physical confrontation.
Police officers later arrived at the scene and took the driver into custody. Several witnesses and individuals who said they were affected by the incident were interviewed as investigations got underway.
An ambulance also responded to the scene. However, it was not immediately confirmed whether any of the persons claiming injuries were transported to a medical facility.
Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing.
The incident comes a day after a vendor in Belmont was taken for medical attention after reportedly being struck by a cannon while it was being transported along the roadside. The vendor has since recovered and is reported to be doing well.
Authorities continue to urge road users to exercise caution and responsibility, particularly in areas where pedestrians and members of the public are gathered.
