ELLE Journalist explores SVG Tourism product

By Val Matthias. Updated 3:30 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2026, Atlantic Standard Time (GMT-4).

Kingstown, St Vincent and the Grenadines September 20, 2026- Italian journalist Giovanni Sparacio, fashion editor at ELLE and editor of ELLE Sposa, is visiting St Vincent and the Grenadines in a trip expected to boost the destination’s visibility in Italy and beyond.

Sparacio, known for coverage of fashion, weddings and lifestyle, has been exploring the country’s landscapes, culture, people and food outside the conventional tourist itinerary, according to the Tourism Authority.

ELLE is an internationally recognised fashion and lifestyle brand. Its Italian edition reaches 5.37 million readers and online users, with 1.4 million social followers makingSparacio’s visit a significant opportunity for destination marketing.

The Tourism Authority notes that St Vincent and the Grenadines comprises 32 islands and cays, offering experiences beyond beaches and traditional attractions. Sparacio’s focus on weddings and lifestyle aligns with efforts to position SVG as a diverse tourism destination.

Tourism Authority CEO Shafia London, who recently described her early tenure as a “listening tour,” has emphasised the role of journalists as partners in elevating the country’s marketing strategies and forging stronger alliances with local, regional and international stakeholders.

The Authority has already been using international personalities and media exposure as part of its promotional strategy.

In August, for example, the Tourism Authority worked with regional broadcaster TEMPO Networks to document the homecoming of Vincentian born NASCAR driver Rajah Caruth, with the aim of showcasing SVG’s culture, heritage and tourism experiences to audiences beyond the country.
