Applications Still Open for Five GECCU University Bursaries Worth EC$3,000 Each

The General Employees’ Co-operative Credit Union Limited (GECCU) has opened applications for its 2026 University Bursary Programme, offering five bursaries valued at EC$3,000 each to help Vincentian students pursue higher education.

The financial awards are available to eligible GECCU members who are nationals or citizens of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and have either been accepted into or are already enrolled in an approved course of study.

According to GECCU, the largest credit Union in St. Vincent and the Grenadines with over 50,000 members, applicants must be members in good standing. This means they must have held membership with the credit union for at least two years before the application date, maintained a minimum share balance of EC$1,500, and consistently made monthly payments towards their share and loan accounts.

The bursaries are open to students pursuing studies at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including master’s and doctoral programmes.

Successful applicants will receive support for two academic semesters. GECCU said continuation of the bursary beyond the initial award period will depend on the student’s satisfactory academic progress.

Applicants are required to submit a completed application form along with their academic transcripts, two letters of recommendation—one character reference and one professional reference—and proof of financial ability.

GECCU has set Wednesday, August 19, 2026, as the deadline for applications. The credit union noted that submissions received without the required supporting documents will not be considered.
