The Bequia-born Vincentian pilot who made history as the first Vincentian to fly an American Airlines aircraft into Argyle International Airport (AIA) in December 2023 will make history again on Saturday, December 7.

Mrs. Rochelle Roache-Lanza is scheduled to pilot the first American Airlines flight from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Argyle International Airport at approximately 3 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2024, well-placed sources have told One News SVG.

American Airlines (AA) has been operating flights into St. Vincent and the Grenadines since December 18, 2022. Initially, these non-stop flights were only available from Miami to Saint Vincent.

Since then, non-stop flights have also been introduced from New York to Saint Vincent. As of Saturday, this will mark the inaugural non-stop flight from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Argyle International Airport in St. Vincent.

The flight from North Carolina is one of three that will land at the Argyle International Airport from the U.S. on Saturday.

Between 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m., American Airlines non-stop flights will arrive from Miami and New York, marking the first time three American Airlines aircraft will land at the airport on the same day.

The AIA was commissioned on February 14, 2017.
