A 26-year-old woman from Stubbs has been charged with murder following the death of a 56-year-old labourer from Largo Height, but police have not disclosed the identity of the deceased in their official report.
According to a statement issued by the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), Bethany Cordice was arrested and charged on September 8 in connection with the incident.
Police allege that on August 5, 2026, Cordice, “with malice aforethought”, caused the man’s death by striking him on the forehead with a piece of steel during an incident in Largo Height.
The police statement, however, does not explain why the identity of the deceased has been withheld, despite the matter now being before the court.
Cordice appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on September 8. As the charge is indictable, she was not required to enter a plea.
The court granted her bail in the sum of EC$40,000 with one surety. She was also ordered to report to the Central Police Station every Monday and Thursday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., surrender all travel documents, and remain subject to stop notices at all ports of entry and exit.
The matter has been adjourned to September 24, 2026.
The charge remains an allegation, and Cordice is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
