A group of local taxi operators is promising passengers, both Vincentians and visitors, what every traveller wants: a driver who turns up on time, gets them where they need to go safely, and treats them with courtesy along the way.
The Reliable Taxi Services Association was founded on 5 November 2024 and is run by a team of experienced men and women drivers. They say they are committed to safe, dependable and professional transport.
Roland Williams leads the association as President, and Calston Roberts serves as Vice President. Both men are founding members of the group. Gideon Harry is the Public Relations Officer, Keon Dougan is the Treasurer, and Neroy Sam serves as Acting Secretary and sits on the committee. Chris Ashton is also a committee member.
According to the association, it is registered and has the approval of the Tourism Authority. It says its members are insured through Sentry Security Insurance Ltd, which it believes should give customers added confidence when they choose its services.
The association offers regular taxi and private transport. It also provides transport for special functions and events, from weddings to corporate gatherings, and will arrange customised services for clients with particular needs.
Its stated mission is to provide transport that is reliable, safe, courteous and professional, and to make sure every customer gets excellent service.
That focus on dependability comes at a time when many commuters and tourists say they want more certainty about the quality of the rides they book. The association is hoping its name will serve as both a promise and a reminder of the standard it has set for itself.
Members of the public can reach the association by calling President Roland Williams at (784) 492-9562, Vice President Calston Roberts at (784) 492-6583, or PRO Gideon Harry at (784) 434-4931. A committee member can also be reached at (784) 593-5474.
The association sums up its approach in its slogan: “We Are Reliable — The Name Says It All.”
