The St Vincent and the Grenadines Postal Corporation (SVG Post) is marking 23 years of service with a series of activities focused on its employees, customers and stakeholders.
The anniversary programme, which runs from October 1 to 10, includes radio outreach, staff health and wellness activities, employee recognition, a customer appreciation day, a postal exhibition and a staff and Board picnic.
Director of Postal Services Jacqueline Adams Ollivierre said the anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on the contribution of SVG Post employees and the continuing role of the postal service in communities and businesses across the country.
“As SVG Post marks 23 years of service, we are proud to reflect on the contribution of our employees and the important role the postal service continues to play in the lives of individuals, communities and businesses across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines,” Adams Ollivierre said.
She added that the celebrations would also highlight the Corporation’s ongoing modernisation and transformation as it seeks to adapt its services to changing customer needs.
The programme includes a series of radio interviews on October 1 and 2, aimed at increasing public awareness of SVG Post’s work and its contribution to national development.
The scheduled interviews are Hot 97 at 8 a.m. and Nice Radio at 8:35 a.m. on October 1, followed by WE FM at 9:20 a.m. On October 2, SVG Post representatives will appear on Boom FM at 8:30 a.m. and NBC Radio at 10:15 a.m.
Also on October 2, employees will have access to health professionals for individual discussions on non-communicable diseases. Basic health checks, including blood pressure and blood sugar testing, will also be available.
The day will continue with an in-house Staff Awards and Long-Service Recognition Ceremony, where employees will be recognised for outstanding performance and years of service. A barbecue and social will bring the day’s activities to a close.
Customer appreciation and postal exhibition
SVG Post will mark World Post Day on October 9 with a special Customer Appreciation Day at its Head Office.
World Post Day is observed annually on October 9, commemorating the establishment of the Universal Postal Union in 1874.
The 2026 theme is “One Postal Network, Infinite Possibilities.”
A special postal exhibition will also be mounted at the Head Office. The exhibition is intended to give customers an opportunity to learn more about SVG Post’s history, products and services, as well as its ongoing modernisation and transformation.
The celebrations will conclude on October 10 with a Staff and Board Picnic at Rawacou. The event will bring together employees, Board members and management for fellowship, recreation and team building.
According to SVG Post, the anniversary is intended to honour the Corporation’s history while recognising its present work and looking towards its continued development.
The Corporation is inviting customers, stakeholders and members of the public to join in its 23rd anniversary and World Post Day celebrations.
