Police are investigating the discovery of a body in Block 2000, New Town Village, Kingstown, as officers await the results of a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

Information obtained by One News SVG indicates that the body, believed to be that of Kenneth Kydd, was discovered on Monday in the Block 2000 area of Kingstown, an area also referred to locally as ‘New Town’.

Reports are that the body was badly decomposed when it was found, making it difficult to immediately determine the circumstances surrounding the death. Further reports also indicated that the deceased was believed to have lived alone.

Investigators are awaiting the outcome of a post-mortem examination, which is expected to establish the cause of death and assist with the ongoing investigation.

Police are also seeking to confirm the deceased’s age and occupation. While information circulating suggests he may have worked as a cart operator, officials have not independently verified that detail.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not indicated that foul play is suspected at this stage.

One News SVG will provide further updates as more information becomes available.

The discovery comes after the body of Selwyn Joseph, also known as “Millie”, of Hamilton, Bequia, was discovered at approximately 11:10 a.m. on Saturday (July 5) below Fort Charlotte in the Edinboro area, nine days after being reported missing from hospital.

Police say no foul play is suspected in that case.
