The Government and people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have officially received the newly completed Edinboro Hardcourt, one of five community-based projects implemented under the Quick Impact Project Agreement between India and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The facility was formally handed over on Monday, June 1, 2026, during a ceremony in Edinboro. The handover was conducted by the High Commissioner of India to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, His Excellency Subhash Prasad Gupta.
During the ceremony, Minister Kaschaka Cupid expressed appreciation to the Government of the Republic of India for its continued partnership and support. He also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to further enhance the facility through the installation of solar-powered lighting and assured that the hardcourt would be properly maintained for the benefit of the community.
Parliamentary Representative Daniel Cummings highlighted the positive impact the facility is expected to have on young people in the community. He also commended BRAGSA for its oversight of the project and underscored the importance of community stewardship in maintaining and enhancing the surrounding environment.
The Edinboro Hardcourt is one of five community-based projects implemented under the India-SVG Quick Impact Project Agreement.
The other projects under the initiative include the rehabilitation of the Penniston Community Centre, rehabilitation of the Dauphine Community Centre, completion of the Calder Community Centre, and the construction of a gym at the Central Leeward Secondary School.
In a release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs thanked the Government of India for its support through the Quick Impact Projects initiative and acknowledged the contributions of stakeholders whose efforts helped bring the project to completion.
The ministry also reaffirmed Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ commitment to strengthening the longstanding bilateral relationship between the two nations.
