An unidentified man is in critical condition after being shot in Chateaubelair, North Leeward sometime early on Monday (August 17), as police continue investigations into what is now the fourth shooting incident reported across St Vincent and the Grenadines in recent days.
The shooting occurred in an area known as Plan, where the man was found with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to the Chateaubelair Smart Hospital before being transferred to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
The man was reportedly unresponsive following his transfer. His identity has not been officially established.
Police have not disclosed the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and the motive remains unknown. Investigators are continuing enquiries into the incident.
The Chateaubelair shooting is one of four firearms incidents currently under investigation across the country. The other three occurred in Kingstown between Friday and Sunday.
In those separate incidents, two women were shot and hospitalised. Two other individuals escaped an attempt on their lives.
