The Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines has announced the appointment of a new Consul General and Deputy Consul General to Canada, with both officials having formally taken up their duties earlier this month.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs, the government said Dr Roderick McKree assumed office as Consul General, while Ms Laverne Phillips-Bramble began serving as Deputy Consul General on October 6, 2026.

According to the ministry, Dr McKree brings more than three decades of experience as an educator to the post. His extensive career in teaching, it said, has equipped him with strong interpersonal skills, adaptability and the ability to work effectively in a wide range of settings. He is also proficient in English and Spanish.

The ministry said Phillips-Bramble holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Management and enters the role with both academic and professional experience relevant to diplomatic service. She is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.

The appointments strengthen St Vincent and the Grenadines’ diplomatic representation in Canada, where the Consulate General provides consular assistance to Vincentians and works to promote the country’s interests abroad.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it is confident that the leadership of Dr McKree and Phillips-Bramble will contribute to advancing St Vincent and the Grenadines’ diplomatic and consular objectives in Canada.
