The Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is reaching out to Vincentians living in the United States to learn more about their skills, experiences and interests as it works to strengthen engagement with the diaspora.

The Department of Diaspora Affairs joined the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) at the Vincy Day USA Picnic on Saturday, August 15, at Heckscher State Park in Long Island, New York, where it engaged members of the Vincentian community.

As part of the outreach, Vincentians were invited to complete a questionnaire designed to give the Department a better understanding of the interests, experiences, skills and potential areas of contribution within the diaspora.

The questionnaire was made available in both digital and physical formats to facilitate participation.

The Department said the information gathered will support “more effective communication, engagement, and collaboration with the Vincentians abroad in support of the national development of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.”

The initiative provides the Government with an opportunity to gather information directly from Vincentians living overseas, while also giving members of the diaspora an avenue to share their experiences and identify areas where they may be able to contribute to SVG.

The Department is now encouraging Vincentians who have not yet completed the questionnaire to participate.

The online questionnaire is available through the following link: https://linktr.ee/svgdiasporaaffairsunit.

The Department said it appreciates the “continued interest, participation, and support of Vincentians in the Diaspora” and is looking to foster stronger connections and partnerships with nationals overseas.

It said the ultimate aim is to strengthen relationships with the Vincentian diaspora in ways that contribute to the development of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
