Owia Government School will face defending champions South Rivers Methodist School in the final of the 2026 SVG Inter-Primary Schools Developmental Cricket Competition on June 11, 2026.

The matchup sets up for what organisers say is a repeat of last year’s championship contest.

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, South Rivers Methodist secured their place in the final with a dominant 117-run victory over Biabou Methodist at the Park Hill Playing Field. Batting first, South Rivers posted 274 for 5 in their 20 overs, with Steven Glasgow scoring 26 and Summa Chance adding 23.

In reply, Biabou Methodist were restricted to 157 all out in their 20 overs. Allison Dalzell led the bowling attack with figures of 4 for 24, while Alex Bushay supported with 3 for 13 to guide South Rivers into the final.

In the second semi-final at the London Playing Field on June 9th, Owia Government defeated Georgetown Government by 18 runs in a closely contested match.

Owia Government set a target of 205 for 7 from their 20 overs, with Amallie Lavia contributing 23 runs. In response, Georgetown Government fell short, ending on 187 for 9. Zorano Lewis top scored with 22, while Owia’s bowling effort was led by Derrick Nanton with 2 for 10 and Orielly Nanton with 2 for 11.

The competition will conclude on June 11, 2026, at the Park Hill Playing Field, where both the third-place playoff and the final will be held.

Georgetown Government will meet Biabou Methodist in the third-place playoff at 9:30 a.m., before the final between South Rivers Methodist and Owia Government at 1:00 p.m. The prize-giving ceremony is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

The Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture and Creative Industries, through the Division of Sports and Physical Activities, is urging the public to attend and support the participating schools and student athletes as the competition comes to a close.
