Senior citizens across St Vincent and the Grenadines are being encouraged to improve their digital literacy through a training programme being offered by the National Public Library, Archives and Documentation Services (NPLADS).
The Senior Citizens Digital Skills Programme will begin on August 17, 2026, and will be conducted at the National Centre for Technological Innovation (NCTI).
Training sessions will take place every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. over a three week period.
According to NPLADS, the programme is designed to help bridge the digital divide by equipping senior citizens with the knowledge and practical skills needed to use digital technology with greater confidence. The initiative also aims to help participants stay connected, access essential online services and enhance their overall quality of life.

Participants will receive hands on training in basic computer skills, safe internet browsing, email communication, social media, the use of mobile devices and everyday applications, as well as accessing online banking services safely.
NPLADS said the sessions will be tailored to the unique needs and learning styles of senior citizens, providing a supportive environment where participants can build confidence while developing practical digital skills.
The programme is open to beginners as well as seniors who wish to improve their existing knowledge of computers, smartphones, email and the internet.
Interested persons can register in person at the National Public Library, Archives and Documentation Services at Richmond Hill or by calling 456 1111, extensions 3342 or 3343.
NPLADS is encouraging senior citizens to participate in the programme as it aims to help bridge the digital divide, build confidence and connect communities one senior at a time.
