A man was found dead with apparent gunshot wounds at a residence in Golden Vale, East St George, on Tuesday (July 14), as police launched an investigation into what is now the country’s 24th homicide.
Police responded to reports of the discovery after the man was found in a bathroom suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and investigators have not yet established when the shooting occurred or the events leading up to the man’s death.
There are no reports from residents in the area that any gunshots were heard, adding to the mystery surrounding the killing.
The deceased had not been formally identified up to the time of publication, pending official confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Police are continuing their investigations and are expected to appeal for information from anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area.
This latest killing brings St Vincent and the Grenadines’ homicide count to 24 for the year.
