Criminal Code Amendment Bill passed

After extensive debate, the Criminal Code Amendment Bill was passed in Parliament this morning with bipartisan support

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves says the Bill will amend the penalties for various sexual offences.

Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Godwin Friday has expressed support for the Bill.

And in his contribution to the debate on the Bill, Minister of Gender Affairs, Family Affairs and Youth, Dr. Orando Brewster provided statistics about child abuse cases in SVG.
